Absorbent pads and rolls

Pads and rolls are the base of every sorbent programme: flat meltblown polypropylene that goes under a leaking machine, along a production line or across a walkway. We make them in three grades, and the grade is chosen by the liquid rather than by the format.

Oil-only sorbents repel water and absorb oil and hydrocarbon-based fluids, so they keep working in the rain and on standing water. Universal sorbents handle water, oil, coolants and non-aggressive chemicals, and their grey colour hides oil and grease in traffic areas. Hazmat sorbents are the high-visibility grade for aggressive and caustic fluids, acids included.

The same material is supplied in a range of weights, widths and roll lengths. Light, medium and heavy weights trade absorbency against tensile strength, and split rolls halve the width where a full 30-inch roll is more than the job needs. Rolls are perforated so that a responder tears off the right amount instead of cutting a whole roll to waste, and sonic bonding adds strength for wiping and MRO work at no additional cost.

Disposal is part of the specification. These sorbents are incineratable and leave less than 0.02% ash behind, which keeps waste volume and disposal cost down once the clean-up is finished and the used material has to leave the site.
