Technical notes
Spunbond is made in one continuous step: polymer is melted, extruded through spinnerets into filaments, drawn, laid onto a moving belt as a web and bonded between heated rolls. A patterned roll gives a point-bonded fabric with a soft hand and good drape; a smooth roll gives a flat-bonded fabric with a stiffer, paper-like surface and higher strength.
Polypropylene spunbond is the workhorse for hygiene, medical, agricultural and packaging applications where cost, chemical resistance and hydrophobicity matter. Polyester spunbond runs hotter and stronger, holds colour and shape, and is specified where heat resistance, printability or dimensional stability are required.
Filament cross-section is a design variable. Round filaments give the most even web; trilobal filaments add bulk, opacity and a brighter surface at the same basis weight.
We manufacture spunbond to order in PP or PET, in the bond pattern, basis weight, width, colour and treatment your product needs.
