Technical notes

Microfilament fabric starts as a spunbond web of bicomponent PET/PA6 filaments. High-pressure water jets then fibrillate the filaments into microfilaments and entangle them at the same time, so the finished fabric is consolidated without binder and carries far more fibre surface than a conventional spunbond of the same weight.

That dense structure gives a barrier and filtration performance unusual for a soft fabric, together with high absorbency, quick drying and good insulation. Because the surface is smooth and does not lint, the fabric behaves like a woven textile in downstream processes: it can be dyed, printed, cut and sewn on standard equipment.

We manufacture microfilament fabric to order. Tell us the basis weight, width, colour and finish you need and the application it is going into, and we will quote the specification delivered to your dock.
