An absorbent sock is a tube of polypropylene skin filled with polypropylene sorbent. It bends to follow the base of a leaking drum or machine, dams a spreading spill and absorbs it at the same time. Socks are the first line of containment in most spill kits and are used indoors and outdoors.
Three grades cover the liquids found in industrial plants. Oil-only socks absorb hydrocarbons and repel water, so they work in rain and on water. Universal socks take oil, coolant, solvents, chemicals and water alike. Hazmat socks are colour-coded yellow for aggressive or unidentified liquids.
We manufacture socks to order by the container. The standard items below ship in cases; any other length, diameter or colour can be produced to your specification.
Oil-only absorbent socks
Absorb oil and hydrocarbon fluids and repel water. Use outdoors, in rain, and for skimming oil off water.

Hazmat absorbent socks
Confine and absorb hazardous or unidentified liquids. 100% polypropylene filler, colour-coded cautionary yellow.
May be incompatible with high concentrations of sulfuric acid; suitable for battery acid.
